  5. 1% cash back on all other purchases.
  6. Earn 25% – 75% more cash back with enrollment in Preferred Rewards (25% for Gold, 50% for Platinum, and 75% for Platinum Honors)***.
  7. 3% foreign transaction fee.
  8. No minimum redemption.
  9. Cash back does not expire.
  10. 0% introductory APR for 15 months on purchases and balance transfers made within the first 60 days (3% balance transfer fee).

*Categories are gas and EV charging stations; online shopping, including cable, internet, phone plans and streaming; dining; travel; drug stores and pharmacies; or home improvement and furnishings.

**3% and 2% cash back categories share the same purchase limit (e.g. if you spend $1,000 at grocery stores, then only $1,500 in purchases on the category of your choice qualify for 3% cash back until the end of the quarter).

***Gold tier requires a 3-month combined average daily balance of $20,000.00 – $49,999.99, Platinum tier requires a 3-month combined average daily balance of $50,000.00 – $99,999.99, and Platinum Honors requires a 3-month combined average daily balance of $100,000.00 or more.

This is a strong card if your quarterly category spend is $2,500 or less, and it’s even better with Preferred Rewards enrollment (which increases the 3% cash back to 3.75% – 5.25%). However, it’s very bad for purchases made at grocery stores and wholesale clubs, which takes away from the 3% cash back earning limit. There’s a lot of overlap between this card and cards like the Citi Custom Cash and U.S. Bank Cash+, so for people who aren’t enrolled in Preferred Rewards, the Customized Cash Rewards mainly stands out with its online shopping category.
